Jimmys Beach is usually a calm and sheltered place to swim or explore. Rod and spear fishing are popular here and the protected location attracts jet skiers, sail surfers, windsurfers and snorkelers.

Bennets Beach is a surf beach patrolled by volunteer lifesavers during the summer season, weekends and every day during the School Holidays.

Two ferries make numerous daily trips connecting Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay across Port Stephens and the Lower Myall River.

See local art and learn the history of Tea Gardens including the Myall River Art Walk and Galleries in the Gardens.

Explore abundant birdlife, subtropical vegetation and ancient paperbark trees on one of the many walking tracks around the area. Not to be missed bushwalks include Yacaaba Walk (6km return) and the Mungo Brush Rainforest Walk (2km return).
